Engraved Shankha
Carving conch shells with mythological images is a centuries-old craft of Bengal. It is practiced by very few artisans today, especially in Bankura district. The crafts persons take 2 to 3 months to carve a beautiful piece of conch shell with finesse. Biswa Bangla has reintroduced this legacy handicraft to contemporary markets, and made this intensive artwork remunerative in turn.
